Setting Up Your Farm Profile & Zones

Category: Getting Started

A well-configured farm profile is the foundation of accurate AI advice.

Farm Profile

Your profile contains the physical characteristics of your land:

  • Location: Used for hyper-local weather alerts and climate data.
  • Elevation: High-altitude farms have different growing requirements than sea-level ones.
  • Soil Type: Tells the AI how your land retains water and nutrients.
  • Farming Type: (e.g., Organic, Permaculture, Conventional) adjusts the advice you receive.

Organizing with Zones

Zones allow you to divide your farm into distinct areas (e.g., "North Field," "Back Garden," "Greenhouse").

  • Why use Zones?: You can track expenses and tasks for specific areas of your land.
  • Zone-Specific Data: In the future, OnlyCrops AI will allow you to set different soil types for different zones.

How to Manage Zones

  1. Go to Manage Zones from the menu.
  2. Add a name for your zone.
  3. When adding or editing a crop, you can assign it to one of these zones.
