Managing crops is the core of OnlyCrops AI. This guide covers how to organize your plantings and use AI to grow them successfully.
Adding a Crop
To add a new crop to your farm:
- Click the Add New Crop button.
- Select from Catalogue: We have a global database of common crops. Selecting one here automatically provides the scientific name and default growing data.
- Add Custom Crop: If your crop isn't in our list, select "Add New" and enter the name manually.
- Variety: Specify the specific variety (e.g., "Roma" for Tomatoes) to get more accurate advice.
- Quantity: Track how many seeds or plants you acquired and how many you actually planted.
Archiving Crops
When a crop season is over or a plant is removed, we recommend Archiving the crop instead of removing it entirely.
- Archiving: Moves the crop out of your active list and into your farm history. This is the primary way to manage finished crops.
- Data Preservation: Archiving preserves all your financial records, notes, and task history for that crop. This allows you to look back at previous seasons to see what worked and what didn't.
- How to Archive: Click the archive icon (box folder) on the crop list or the "Archive Crop" button on the crop details page.
Currently, OnlyCrops AI uses an archiving system to ensure your valuable farm data and financial history are never lost by mistake.
AI Growing Guides
Every time you add a crop, OnlyCrops AI generates a custom guide. This guide includes:
- Guidelines: Best practices for soil, water, and sunlight based on your location.
- Key Dates: AI-calculated dates for pruning, fertilizing, and harvesting.
- Task Generation: You can click "Generate Task List" to automatically add these dates to your farm calendar.
